What Can You Discuss with Us?

The exhibition will give us an opportunity to meet existing and potential customers face to face and learn more about their upcoming fabric development projects.

Rather than simply presenting a large number of fabric samples, we hope to discuss the practical requirements behind each garment program, including:

  • Garment application
  • Fabric composition and structure
  • Target GSM and finished width
  • Handfeel and surface appearance
  • Stretch and recovery
  • Warmth and garment structure
  • Brushing, bonding and other finishing options
  • Color matching and lab dips
  • MOQ and estimated order quantity
  • Testing and compliance requirements

You are welcome to bring a fabric swatch, garment sample, technical specification, product photo or current sourcing requirement to our booth.

Fabrics for Different Apparel Applications

At the exhibition, you will be able to discuss fabric development with us for a range of apparel categories.

Hoodies, Sweatshirts and Joggers

For casualwear and sweatshirt programs, we can discuss French terry, loopback fabric, brushed fleece, polar fleece and matching rib.

Different garments require different combinations of GSM, warmth, softness, stretch and dimensional stability. We can help you compare possible fabric routes based on the intended garment, target market and order requirements.

Sweater Jackets and Winter Casualwear

For cardigans, pullovers, sweater jackets and casual coats, we can discuss hacci sweater fleece, brushed hacci and fleece-bonded constructions.

The appropriate construction will depend on whether the garment requires a softer drape, a sweater-like appearance, additional warmth or a more structured silhouette.

Sportswear and Activewear

For training tops, teamwear, leggings, yoga wear and other activewear products, we can discuss polyester jersey, interlock, bird-eye fabric, mesh and nylon- or polyester-spandex fabrics.

Development considerations may include moisture management, drying performance, stretch recovery, opacity under stretch, surface softness and resistance to pilling.

Jackets and Structured Garments

For warm-up jackets, outdoor garments, uniforms and structured casualwear, we can discuss scuba, air-layer, Ponte Roma and bonded fabric constructions.

Depending on the garment application, the development may need to balance structure, warmth, flexibility, weight, wind resistance and water resistance.

Recycled Fabric Programs

For buyers developing recycled or compliance-oriented collections, we can also discuss recycled polyester and recycled nylon fabric options.

Relevant documentation, testing requirements, bulk color control and repeatability should be confirmed at the beginning of the development process.

Bring Your Fabric Requirement to Our Booth

To help us understand your project more efficiently, you may send or bring:

  • A reference fabric swatch
  • A garment sample or product photo
  • A technical specification sheet
  • Required composition and GSM
  • Finished width
  • Estimated order quantity
  • Pantone color or color standard
  • Required testing or certification
  • Target price range

Even when a complete specification is not yet available, information about the intended garment can help us identify a more practical starting point.

A garment photo is also enough to begin the discussion. Tell us what the garment needs to achieve, and we can help narrow down the possible fabric structures, weights and finishing routes.

From Fabric Reference to Bulk Development

A fabric that looks suitable in a photo or sample may still create problems during garment production.

Its GSM may not provide the required warmth, the stretch may be sufficient while recovery remains weak, or a brushed surface may not meet the expected pilling performance. Bonded fabrics may also become too heavy or stiff when the face fabric, backing and adhesive route are not properly matched.

At our booth, we can compare these factors with you and discuss a more practical development route before sampling or bulk production begins.

Depending on the project, the process may include:

  • Fabric structure selection
  • Composition and yarn adjustment
  • GSM and width confirmation
  • Lab dip development
  • Handfeel comparison
  • Brushing or bonding selection
  • Sample testing
  • Bulk shade and quality control

Our purpose is not to provide the largest possible number of fabric options. We aim to help you narrow the choices and identify a construction that fits the garment and can be reproduced consistently in bulk production.

Arrange a Meeting in Advance

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is expected to be a busy sourcing event. Arranging a meeting in advance will allow us to understand your requirements before the exhibition and prepare more relevant fabric samples whenever possible.

When contacting Jessie, you may send:

  • Your garment or fabric reference photos
  • Required fabric type
  • Target composition and GSM
  • Estimated quantity
  • Testing or certification requirements
  • Any current sourcing or quality problem

This information will help us prepare for a more focused discussion during your visit.
