When comparing Hacci sweater fleece quotations, many buyers begin with one number: the price per kilogram.
That number is important, but it does not show the complete fabric cost.
A lower USD/kg quotation may provide fewer usable meters, have a narrower cutting width or require more allowance for shrinkage and defects. For bonded Hacci, a lower price may also come from a lighter backing fabric or a less stable bonding process.
A useful quotation comparison should therefore answer four questions:
- How many usable meters does one kilogram provide?
- Are the GSM and width based on the same finished specification?
- Is the fabric single-brushed or fleece-bonded?
- Can the approved quality be repeated in bulk production?
Start with Cost per Meter, Not Only Cost per Kilogram
Garment factories buy fabric by weight, but they cut garments by length. This means the price per meter is often more useful than the price per kilogram.
The approximate weight of one meter can be calculated as:
Weight per meter = GSM × finished width in meters ÷ 1,000
For example, consider a Hacci fabric with the following specification:
- Finished GSM: 280
- Finished width: 165 cm
- Price: USD 5.00/kg
The weight of one meter is:
280 × 1.65 ÷ 1,000 = 0.462 kg
The approximate cost per meter is therefore:
0.462 × USD 5.00 = USD 2.31 per meter
One kilogram provides approximately:
1 ÷ 0.462 = 2.16 meters
This calculation gives the buyer a more practical basis for garment costing.
However, the result is only useful when the quoted GSM and width represent the actual finished bulk fabric.
GSM and Width Must Be Compared Together
A cheaper kilogram price does not always mean a cheaper fabric.
Consider two quotations:

At first, Supplier B appears cheaper because the kilogram price is lower. Once GSM and width are included, the difference per meter is almost zero.
The buyer must then compare usable width and bulk stability.
A nominal width of 165 cm does not necessarily mean that all 165 cm can be used for cutting. Curled edges, uneven brushing or poor bonding near the sides can reduce the usable width.
The quotation should therefore confirm:
- Finished GSM and permitted tolerance
- Finished width
- Usable cutting width
- Shrinkage requirement
- Whether the specification applies to finished bulk fabric
This is especially important when comparing a small approved sample with bulk production. If the bulk GSM becomes heavier, the buyer receives fewer meters per kilogram. If the usable width becomes narrower, garment consumption may increase.
Single-Brushed and Bonded Hacci Are Different Cost Structures
Single-brushed Hacci and fleece-bonded Hacci should not be compared as though they are the same product.
A single-brushed quality consists mainly of the Hacci base fabric plus brushing and finishing. Its cost is influenced by yarn composition, fabric weight, brushing level, color and finishing requirements.
A bonded quality includes additional elements:
- Hacci face fabric
- Sherpa, polar fleece or another backing
- Adhesive
- Bonding process
- Additional inspection
- Higher packing and shipping weight
The backing fabric also changes the final GSM.
For example, a 260 GSM Hacci face bonded with a 180 GSM backing will not necessarily finish at exactly 440 GSM. Adhesive, finishing tension and process loss can change the final result.
Therefore, a bonded Hacci quotation should clearly state whether the GSM refers to:
- The Hacci face fabric only
- The backing fabric only
- The total finished bonded fabric
Without this clarification, two quotations may appear similar while referring to completely different constructions.
Bonding quality also affects the real cost. A cheaper bonded fabric can become expensive if it develops bubbling, stiffness or separation after washing.
For bonded qualities, we recommend confirming the finished handfeel and carrying out a washing check before bulk approval.
MOQ Changes the Meaning of the Quoted Price
Our common MOQ for custom Hacci sweater fleece is approximately 500 kg per color, although the final quantity depends on yarn, color, GSM, backing and finishing requirements.
A quotation based on 2,000 kg of one color may not apply to an order divided into four colors of 500 kg each.
Smaller quantities can increase the cost of:
- Yarn and dyeing preparation
- Lab dips
- Machine setup
- Brushing or bonding trials
- Backing fabric preparation
- Shade control
For this reason, buyers should not compare prices without confirming the quantity behind each quotation.
A useful comparison should state:
- Quantity per color
- Number of colors
- Total order quantity
- Whether the price includes custom dyeing
- Whether the backing fabric is included
- Whether testing or special packing is included
This avoids receiving an attractive initial price that changes after the color breakdown and construction are confirmed.
Bulk Quality Determines the Final Garment Cost
The lowest quotation creates no saving if the bulk fabric cannot be cut or used consistently.
For Hacci sweater fleece, the most important bulk controls are not every possible laboratory test. They are the points that directly affect garment production:
GSM and Width Consistency
Large roll-to-roll variation changes meters per kilogram and cutting consumption.
Shade Consistency
Hacci has a visible knitted texture, so color differences can appear more obvious across garment panels. Rolls used in the same garment order should be grouped and checked by shade.
Surface and Brushing
The knitted face should remain clean and consistent. For single-brushed qualities, the brushed back should not vary significantly in softness or appearance between rolls.
Pilling Risk
Hacci structures can be vulnerable to pilling depending on the yarn, surface construction and brushing level. The required test method and grade should be confirmed according to the garment and target market rather than relying only on the phrase “anti-pilling.”
Bonding Stability
For bonded qualities, inspection should check flatness, glue marks, stiffness and visible separation. Washing approval is more meaningful than checking only a small unwashed swatch.
These controls affect the true cost because unstable fabric can cause cutting waste, panel shade differences, garment rework and customer claims.
What Should Be Included in a Hacci Quotation?
A practical quotation does not need to contain dozens of technical terms. It should clearly state:
- Composition
- Finished GSM
- Finished and usable width
- Price per kilogram
- Approximate meters per kilogram
- Single-brushed or bonded construction
- Backing type and total bonded GSM
- Quantity per color
- Sample and bulk lead time
- Main QC or testing requirements
When these points are clear, the buyer can compare fabric cost on the same basis.

When comparing Hacci sweater fleece prices, do not begin by asking which supplier has the lowest USD/kg.
First make sure the quotations refer to the same:

- Brushed or bonded construction
- Quantity per color
- Bulk quality standard
Then convert the price into an approximate cost per usable meter.
This provides a much more realistic basis for garment costing and helps prevent a low initial quotation from becoming a higher production cost later.
