Not every project needs the same type of fabric sample.
If you only need to confirm a color, a small swatch may be enough. If you need to make a garment for a brand review, a trial roll is usually more practical.
Choosing the right sampling method helps avoid unnecessary development costs before bulk production.
Color Sample — When You Only Need to Confirm the Shade
If the fabric quality is already clear and you only need to approve the color, we normally recommend starting with a color sample.
We use available greige fabric that is as close as possible to the planned bulk fabric and prepare three close shade options — A, B and C — around your target color.
Each swatch is approximately 3 × 3 cm.
Color samples are free.
Shipping is normally paid by the customer or sent by courier collect.
For many projects, this is the simplest way to confirm color before moving to a larger sample.
Trial Roll — When You Need to Make Garments
If you need enough fabric to make sample garments for your buyer, brand or product development team, we usually recommend a trial roll.
A typical trial roll is around 25 kg.
For a new fabric development, the typical development charge is around USD 150.
The greige fabric is charged separately because its cost depends on the composition, GSM, structure and actual specification.
If the fabric quality has already been developed and you only want a different color, we normally do not charge the development fee again. A small-lot dyeing charge may apply instead.
Small-Lot Dyeing — When You Need Finished Fabric Below 500KG per Color
Our regular dyeing quantity is approximately 500 kg per color.
If you need a smaller quantity of finished fabric, we can still arrange production, but a small-lot dyeing charge may apply.
For regular solid-color dyeing, this is typically around USD 300 per color.
For printing, watermark effects, multiple colors or other special processes, the cost depends on the actual fabric and production requirements.
If your main purpose is only to confirm the color, we normally recommend starting with a free color sample instead of arranging a small dye lot.
Special Processing and Machine Setup
Some projects require additional machine adjustment, especially when there are different specifications, printing, embossing or other special processes.
A setup charge may apply in these cases.
For relatively simple adjustments, the typical charge is around USD 50. More complicated processing is quoted according to the actual requirement.
Third-Party Testing
If you need a formal test report, please let us know before placing the order.
We can arrange testing through your nominated laboratory or one of the laboratories we regularly work with.
The testing cost is based on the laboratory’s actual quotation, and we will provide the details for your confirmation before arranging the test.
Third-party testing fees are normally separate from development costs and are not usually credited toward the bulk order.
Can Development Costs Be Credited Toward Bulk Production?
Depending on the final order quantity and project conditions, some development costs may be partially or fully credited toward a later bulk order.
There is no single rule for every project. Our sales team will review the order quantity and commercial terms with you before confirming the applicable credit.
Which Option Should You Choose?
A simple way to decide is:
Only need to confirm the color?
Start with a free color sample.
Need to make garments for approval?
A trial roll is usually the better option.
Need a small quantity of finished fabric?
We can arrange small-lot dyeing.
Need special processing or testing?
Let us know your requirements in advance so we can confirm the applicable cost.
Before arranging any paid development work, we will confirm the cost with you first.
If you are not sure which option fits your project, send us your fabric specification, target color and sampling purpose. We will recommend the most practical sampling method for you.
